Bio

I always loved writing stories and I loved drama which led me to film acting at a young age. Getting older, I realized that I’d prefer to tell my own stories over following screen scripts. Listening to music a lot, inevitably led to writing my own lyrics and melodies.

I pitched some of my songs to Houston’s Grammy-winning producer Billy Dorsey Jr. and we decided to produce an EP together.

Being in the studio, talking to musicians, creating beautiful music together feels like home. I enjoy writing about feelings, conflict, dark themes, fairytales, and mythology. My role model is Aurora and I admire her style and creativity.

Recently, I won in the YoungArts competition 2022 in the category voice: singer/songwriter. I really hope that my music will touch deep emotions in my audience and makes them feel understood and appreciated.
My voice is very unique, and I’m told that is a good thing. Let’s see where it leads me.

Storytelling has always been in my blood. I loved writing stories and I loved drama which led me to film acting at a young age. Getting older, I realized that I’d prefer to tell my own stories over following screen scripts. Poems piled up on my desk, arranging words comes easy to me and gives me a satisfying feeling. But what really made me happy and feel alive was listening to music. I loved singing along and had voice lessons which were fun. Inevitably I started to write my own lyrics and melodies.

People on Instagram love my voice which is sometimes referred to as like Kate Bush and sometimes as like a Disney princess. I know that my voice is rather unique, and I’m told that is a good thing.

But what really made me happy and feeling alive was listening to music. I loved singing along and had voice lessons which were fun. Inevitably I started to write my own lyrics and melodies.

I soon learned to record and mix songs in my makeshift studio at home and there was the moment when I had the scary thought that maybe nobody will ever get to hear my song. That heart-wrenching feeling made me realize that making music is my path in life.

Out of nowhere, I got a call if I wanted to perform with some other singers at a venue in Houston, my vocal coach had recommended me. Yes, I wanted to perform. I had been on stage before with music schools etc., but here, suddenly I had to prepare my performance all by myself and I needed a stage piano and to figure out things like “what cable do I need, how long and where to plug it in”, how to promote myself, what songs to choose. I felt like I had to become a professional musician within 6 weeks and I took on the challenge. By the time the show was scheduled I was so ready to perform … and then came Covid19. Venues closed days before the show, everything shut down and I found myself sewing face masks instead of singing on stage.

Like anyone else, the uncertainty of the situation made me question everything. Is there even a future as a singer if stage performances aren’t possible at times? But I knew that the only thing that would get me through this difficult time is music. I sat down and wrote a song about my feelings of losing everything that is dear to me. And then I wrote more songs about the fear of failing my ambitions, feelings of depression and anxiety, the challenges of growing up … and a year passed.

Still in the pandemic but having made some peace with it, I started writing songs about relationships, mythology, fairytales … and pitched them to Houston’s Grammy-winning producer Billy Dorsey Jr. who liked what he heard. We decided to produce an EP together.

Being in the studio, talking to musicians, creating beautiful music together feels like home. If I ever had doubt about becoming a singer and songwriter, it’s gone. This is it. And while my peers will soon go to college, I am looking forward to making music after graduation. To me, college can wait, music can’t.

There are so many songs in my head that I want to share. While most teen musicians write about love and heartbreak, I enjoy writing about other feelings, conflicts, dark themes, fairytales, and mythology. My favorite singer Aurora is proof that this kind of music has a huge following and I admire her style and creativity.

Recently, I won in the YoungArts competition 2022 in the category voice: singer/songwriter. Not that I would still need encouragement, but it shows that my talent is acknowledged by professionals, and it feels good. I hope that my music will touch deep emotions in my audience and makes them feel understood and appreciated.
